Jo has a new boyfriend. His name is David and he is a real gentleman.
He took her dancing. Then when he brought her home he shook her hand.
“What, before or after?” Chrissy asks her
“Instead of,” says a perplexed-looking Jo, who is
now worried that she is losing her sex appeal. Chrissy cannot offer an
opinion on the subject and so the girls seek Robin’s advice.
“Well what do you want him to do?” Robin asks.
“Nothing,” Jo replies.
“But that’s exactly what he’s
doing.”
“Well he could try, couldn’t he?”
Then the girls come up with a way to encourage David to come out of his
shell and try a little harder. Jo will cook him a romantic dinner for
two.
One problem: she can’t cook.
The answer: Robin will have to cook it for her.
Robin is
not keen
on the idea, though, he does enough cooking at
college, but his protests are short-lived when Chrissy catches him in
the bath and brandishes a bottle of perfume over the water. If he does
not want to smell like a puff, he will have to do as the girls want. It
is a convincing argument and Robin has no choice other than to agree.
Unfortunately for Robin, the perfume later gets spilt anyway and the
smell just won’t wash off.
When Jo’s big evening arrives Robin and Chrissy go down to
the Ropers for the evening to give her some space. Robin still smells
of perfume and assures an uncomfortable-looking Mr Roper that there is
an explanation for his less than masculine odour. “Yes,
I’m sure,” says Roper and quickly changes the
subject: “Anyone fancy a game of
monopoly?”
